Every improviser faces this kind of surprise, but it is often more prevalent for underrepresented communities in the improv world women, people of color, LGBTQI individuals, people with disabilities, etc. Usually, its only later that we are able to think, I should have done this! or I could have said that! In this workshop, we will come together as a community to use our collective knowledge to help one another fill our toolboxes with ways to handle these types of situations using Forum Theater. Forum Theater is a community organization and action tool created by Augusto Boal, a prominent Brazilian theater practitioner, as part of Theater of the Oppressed. Come dressed to move in comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes, and be advised that we will be talking about difficult situations and experiences from our personal lives.
